Migrating SIM Reactors to Version 4

You have to migrate SIM reactors to the version 4 format before you can run them. This topic describes how to migrate existing reactor Excel workbooks or dat files, creating new version 4 style reactor workbooks and associated Petro-SIM cases. Please see Migrating Petro-SIM Cases to V4 for help with Petro-SIM migration.

The Petro-SIM ribbon bar in Excel includes the migration commands:

Migration Group

Use SIM Workbook when you wish to migrate an existing reactor workbook. Use DAT file when you wish to migrate an existing reactor .dat file, which is the card image text file used by the SIM reactors.

Each button opens a selection view letting you browse for your file and select how much to migrate. You can select all calibration cases and/or all predict cases. Click OK to begin the migration: it will take several minutes to complete so please be patient.

The process creates a new reactor workbook in Excel for you. Once complete you are ready to go!
