Every release of Petro-SIM contains upgraded functionality to improve the user experience and expand modelling capabilities to support both design and operations. Petro-SIM v7.7 has improvements to:

Column Solver

• Sparse column solver:
• VLLE columns are now supported
• Reactive distillation columns now supported
• Column logger for improved diagnostics
• C-factor/wetting calcs included in column simulation (for vacuum towers)

Heat Exchangers and Energy Modelling

• Improved steady state heat exchanger rating model:
• Improve pressure drop and heat transfer especially around multi phase systems.
• Reboiler and condenser support (K shells).
• New configuration options:
• Spiral Heat Exchanger
• Helical baffles
• BT Utility - Updates to default values and Look & feel

Usability

• Ability to export pipe segments into Excel workbook
• Support for customized report colors
